R.V.Rama Mohan

Mr.Rama Mohan did his Masters in Water Resources Engineering and has around 16 years of experience in rural development sector in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Bihar. Facilitated planning and implementation of various natural resources management (NRM) projects including water management; groundwater regulations; community forest management; sustainable agriculture and livelihoods. Piloting various innovations; action research; and policy improvement in NRM has been his core focus of work

Dr. Antonio A. Alfonso

Dr. Antonio A. Alfonso is Chief Science Research Specialist at the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) where he has been working as rice breeder for more than two decades. Concurrently, he is Director of Crop Biotechnology Center and Coordinator of the Department of Agriculture Biotechnology Program and Biotechnology Program Implementation Unit.

Dr.Trilochan Mohapatra

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra is presently holding the position of Director of the prestigious Central Rice Research Institute located at Cuttack, Odisha, India. Prior to this, he worked as a researcher and teacher for about 20 years at the National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, India. He has been working in the area of molecular genetics and genomics. Dr. Mohapatra has over 135 research papers in national and international journals of repute and several book chapters.

Dr. Nipon Poapongsakorn

Dr. Nipon Poapongsakorn is currently a distinguished fellow, Thailand Development Research Institute Foundation (TDRI). He formerly held the position of President of TDRI, and Dean, Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University, where he was also Associate Professor. He has been also teaching business and political economy course in the Executive MBA program of Thammasat University. He received a BA in economics from Thammasat University, and PhD in economics from University of Hawaii. His main research is in the areas of agricultural and industrial policies and labor market.

Dr.Jagdish Ladha

J.K. Ladha is currently a Principal Scientist and the IRRI representative for India and Nepal. He is also an adjunct Senior Research Scientist in the Columbia University. He devoted more than 30 years to aspects of sustainable management of agriculture and natural resources for increasing food security and environmental quality. He provided leadership to the Rice-Wheat Consortium (RWC) and the Cereal System Initiative for South Asia (CSISA).

Dr Steve Linscombe

Dr Steve obtained his Ph.D in 1982 from Mississippi State Univ., Mississippi State in the field of Agronomy - Plant Breeding and Genetics. He completed his M.S. in 1979 from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge and B.S. in 1976 from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. He has held several prestigious and key research positions throughout his career. From December 2001 to date, he is the Regional Director, Southwest Region; Resident Coordinator, Rice Res. Stn.

Tejinder Narang

Tejinder Narang was Director of PEC Limited, a Government of India Corporation and trading outfit, under the administrative control of Ministry of Industry & Commerce (Department of Commerce), and retired from active service in September 2008. He has been dealing with international trade for the last 36 years in various capacities. He has handled diversified transactions in counter trade, third country exports, commodity trading and financing of commodities both domestically as well as in international market.

Yu Tanaka

Yu Tanaka completed his  B.Sc from Kyoto University in 2006  and went on to do M.Sc. from Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University in 2008. In  2011, he earned his Ph.D. from Kyoto University. His thesis topic was 'Genetic diversity of stomatal morphology and transpiration rate among soybean cultivars'.

Darren Cooper

Darren Cooper has spent almost two decades in the commodities sector, in a range of roles, covering different markets and industries, including mining and metals, tropical commodities, notably natural rubber, as well as agriculture, particularly grains, rice and oilseeds.  He has travelled extensively and presented on a range of topics at many international conferences.  He joined the International Grains Council in London in 2006 and holds a Master of Science degree in economics. 
 

Professor Robert Henry

Professor Robert Henry is a graduate of the University of Queensland, B Sc (Hons), Macquarie University, M Sc (Hons) and La Trobe University (Ph D). In 2000 Professor Henry was awarded a higher doctorate (D Sc) by UQ for his work on analysis of variation in plants. Before being appointed QAAFI Director in May 2010, he was Director of the Centre for Plant Conservation Genetics at Southern Cross University, a centre which he established in 1996.
